Hello September! While we enjoy the last of this years warmth, there’s plenty to do in the garden this month including harvesting crops and tidying.

In the fruit & veg garden
Keep harvesting crops
By harvesting your crops now, you ensure healthy growth right the way through until the end of autumn
Cut bean and pea plants down
It is ideal to cut your bean and pea plants to ground level once they have finished cropping. Leave the roots which will slowly release nitrogen back into the soil as they break down.
Pick any ripe apples
They should come away easily with a gentle pull when they are ready.
In the flower garden
Deadhead and feed container and hanging basket plants
This ensures your flowers are kept healthy and are encouraged to keep growing.
